Power Steering noise on start-up
Yesterday, my GTi developed a squeeking from the steering. This is only on cold start. It seems as though the power steering pump is trying to pressurise. After a minute or so, it stops. One thing is, that when this noise is happening, turning the steering wheel makes the noise louder. Could it be t...

Halfrauds
I use Halfrauds stuff... at Christmas they had a deal on: 3 for 2 - so I got 3 x 5 litre bottles for the price of 2 for £9.99 - see me thru winter and summer! I dilute about 60/40 in cold weather - it comes out green on the screen like pond water, but certainly clears the crap off the screen and do...

Not motor
Well, the motor is not straining... it just seems to go down normally, but not all the way down. I reckon there's some code that got messed up when the battery went flat. I'll have to ask the VW techy's (hoho) when it goes in for a service.

In Law
You must have all lights working correctly by law. If one is a side light and shouldn't be, then they can give you a ticket for not having operational lights. I think you may even have an earth loop, perhaps something is earthing that shouldn't be? Maybe in the new lights? Anyway, it's worth getting...

Windows go all the way down? How?
Hi, well now I have my windows automatically going up and down again, I noted that my passenger window goes all the way down, but my Drivers window goes down and stops with 3 inches of window still showing? Any ideas on getting the window all the way down as per the passenger side, or is this they w...

TP or not TP
I was trying out the TP Set on the Radio yesterday. Now, it seems to have set the TP, but how do I turn TP off? The car manual is useless and says to "exit TP mode", but does not indicate what this is or how to turn off TP. Can anyone describe the steps or buttons to press please? I manage...

Thanks
Yep, this worked a treat! Automatic settings restored. Let's hope my battery is not on it's way out. How long can a Polo GTi sit without starting before it runs down the battery? Anyone know? I left mine for only 1 week and it was flat, although the engine turned over, there was no t enough in to ma...

Could it be?
Exhaust? Perhaps you have a small hole in it somewhere... maybe near the manifold or perhaps in a join? Otherwise, could be air getting in the engine somewhere where it shouldn't - checked the hoses to the air filter etc?

Mine also did weird things previous, like stopping three inches from closed - not nice to lean your right arm on Now, can't even do that! Will try the passenger window top though - cheers

Programable windows?
Since the low battery I got from leaving my GTi for one week... I noted that today, the windows are not working the same as they did prior to the battery going flat. The left window now goes up and down, but does not continue to go right down or up as it did before. It will only move if the bu...
