Strip the carpet out and the plastic boot cover and get in the boot. Get someone to spray a hose over the bacl to see where it's coming from. Common mk 3 leaks in the rear are usually from: Boot rubber seal Light seals Or the panel damaged behind them so they dont seal well. Sliding Sunroof drain ch...

If you are thinking of not telling the insurance, you might as well not have a policy. The reason why permiums are high is because of this kind of thing. If you go to brentacre they will do a policy that allows any mods upto 100 bhp or 125 bhp etc, doesn't matter if it's a conversion.

Interesting conversion. Steve knows what he's doing and it gave massive torque.

The question is, is it worth all the effort over a 3F lump ? Your gonna be paying more tax and probably more insurance (depending who it's with).

Like the way you have done it up and kept it. Still can't believe the timing belt  Lucky to get away with that is an understatement.

The Yoko A539 that come in 175 60 13 (stock G40 size) will fit on the GT steels. Don't forget raicam pads from PSD, they are excellent 8) Braided hoses and motul brake fluid help too. Theres a trick to adjusting the rears up well. With the rear drum on, shine a torch through a bolt hole and find the...

Hmm, very peaky low down torque there. Good for town driving etc.

A GT is very rewarding high up the rev range and usually have a pretty wide torque spread too.

Be aware of companies that offer them cheap. They are usually around the £600 mark for konigsports and your front struts have to be sent to FK and checked before. Otherwise you pay a fairly big surcharge on them.

Not gonna make a blind bit of difference

The surface area of the oil filter will not be able to dissipate much heat through contact with that. Think how much hot oil is flowing through the filter when your revving the engine hard.

A proper oil cooler is needed.

Put a wanted ad in the relevent section. Try your yellow pages for local VW breakers.

A 5 speed box will fit with the correct mount, I can't remeber if you need to change the gear linkage and ARB though.

It isnt specifically. in fact lowered suspension is less likely to rub because there is less suspesnion movement as its firmer. Normal suspension is very soft and wollowy with more travel. If you wan't to find out the hard way, go and buy big set of wheels and tyres. The handling will be terrible an...
