Re: Buying a 2010 Polo 6R.

The 1.2 N/A should sit and idle with no obvious revving unless its running on cold start warm up by the ECU which at this time of the year isn't going to happen. I use to have a Polo 9N that had the 1.2L 3 cylinder. It's a bit of a noisy engine and a bit underpowered, it should sound like a sewing m...

Re: Two Cars - One weekend - the new Polo Blue GT arrives.

Beautiful work! You've got a pair of lovely cars there. I hope you enjoy them. Wow, I want a machine polisher now, I can get fairly good results by hand that amaze the neighbours but that is a cut above what I can do. I tend to use Autoglym Super Resin polish and Autoglym Extra Gloss Sealant. My dea...

Re: Steering knock

Mine has had it since new, its not audible but its a small clunky feeling when at slow speed forwards or reverse when manoeuvring into a space. I'm unsure what it is.

Re: Upgrading mfd?

There is some VCDS coding to be done, there will be others that know more than me though. It is not a straight swap as I think the immobiliser and keys are tied to the cluster plus your mileage.

Re: Powering Dash Cam Query - Polo 6r (2012)

Small double usb adapter http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab103/nisis/kameravirta_zps33d758a0.jpg Yeah, that's the easiest solution, I personally have mine wired to the wiring loom which runs on the left hand side of the car so it's always on until the battery reaches 12v and then it cuts. Power ...

Re: High pitched noise PLEASE HELP

Hi, Might help with a video if possible for the noise? Does it change pitch as the revs increase? Has it always happened or only just started happening? Vibrations in the engine bay can cause strange noises, I know the fuel lines in earlier models needed extra support to stop vibration/noise. My new...

Re: New GTI

Wiring up through the fuse box is simple with a Nextbase hardwire kit, I personally install my Blackvue cameras with a power magic pro and cut into the wiring loom, install my own ignition sensor and fuse but its easier to do it with a Nextbase. Running cables up the pillar trim and behind the rubbe...

Re: Kenwood Sat nav upgrade

I got the Kenwood Garmin unit for free, I would say it is not worth £599, even £200 is pushing it in my opinion. Mine was fitted really badly by the dealership and I ended up refitting it all myself. The unit is secured with velcro behind the carpet under the glovebox, the dealership had just left i...

Re: 2016 GTI LED FOG LIGHT BULBS

Really nice upgrade Jack! I know what I'm buying on pay day! Thanks for the post. I'll tape up the gloss bits before attacking the surrounds, I did the same on a 6R and know how difficult they are to pull off without thinking you're going to break something.

Re: Opinions on lowering springs

Bare in mind I was in an R-Line which has a front splitter and more aggressive front bumper. In a standard Polo you might be ok with the lowering.

Re: Opinions on lowering springs

My experience of Eibach lowering springs on my previous 1.2 TSI R-line was that they made the ride a little more bouncy but it did give slightly better feedback in the corners. I hated so many things about lowering it though. It wasn't slammed, it was OEM and within warranty as I had it done at the ...

Re: New GTI

I'm saying goodbye to my R-line 1.2TSI tomorrow and saying hello to my GTI. Can't wait. My R-line has been a fantastic car, loved it and kept good pace against some bigger capacity cars so I can't imagine what a GTI is going to be like. https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=509237FF58A3F032!6386&...

Re: New GTI

You need to get a few more miles on it before it achieves better mpg, that's still pretty good though considering its power. The engine will loosen up over time and give you better mpg.

Re: Polo 6R Mid-Line Instrument Cluster

Where did you get highline cluster if you dont mind me asking + im sure R line, SE and S...have the same cluster? Ed in Great Yarmouth fitted it for me, it was his last one. He told me he was having difficulty finding more highline clusters. You're probably right but my previous SE did not have a t...
