I would recommend to check the gap before installation, exactly for the reasons you say. A thickness gauge is very useful. But I would not feel very comfortable changing the gap if it wasn't up to spec.

if it's really only the parking lights, it's probably not a fuse. try disconnecting i.e. the fronts or the rears and see if the other side works

a 7E0 937 089C should support TPMS high (address 65) yes. Kessy should be available too, but keep an eye out for the correct key frequencies.

You'll need a wire with a micro quadlock system connector and 0,35mm2 or higher diameter. Pin numbers are correct.

for this you'll need to add two wires from the slip ring to the fuse box and bcm. you'll also need another airbag and a loom for the airbag. and something like vcds or obd11 to code your bcm.
