Does anyone know if its possible to adjust the direction of the spray? right now my spray shoots the jet over the roof, with only a tiny big hitting the rear window. I've tried sticking a pin in the nozzle, but it wont budge. Normally all you need is a pin... just put it in the hole where the spray...

I had the pipe pop off problem during a cold spell last winter too. Its fairly easy to reach the pipe.. Dont use the rear spray until you fix it otherwise you'll flood the boot door, and this might do bad things to the lock. Does anyone know if its possible to adjust the direction of the spray? righ...

They did both programming things for free, while they had it in to replace the water bottle and pump. My local dealer didnt know about the beeping code and had to hunt for it, but once they knew what to do - it was a few second job, I cant imagine they would charge for something like that. The autol...

Beep on remote lock/unlock volume
I booked my polo in to my dealer a few days ago for a leaking water bottle. While it was in, I asked them to programme in the beeping on remote lock/unlock'ing and the auto locking over 10mph. I like the auto locking feature, but the beeping on lock and unlock is very loud - has anyone else had thei...

Not sure about a howling noise.. but after after a low speed crash where another car went in the front left wing of my polo, the steering started making a whirring noise. And I asked the repair shop they said it was the power steering motors straining against something. I suspect something got bent ...

Found out how to fill it up normally now!
I think I've cracked the slow filling up thing. For the past month I've been filling it up with the nozzle not put all the way in - and noticed that the diesel foams up and rises - which causes the pump to cut out because it thinks the tank is full.. Thats why previously I kept having to trickle the...

Re: Filling TDi at the pumps
Thanks for the replies. I think I've tried swivelling the nozzle around, and it does seem better if I dont plunge it all the way in (ooeer). But it still requires a delicate balancing act to keep it from clicking off. I remember you dented it not long after you had it didn't you? Take more care of y...

Filling TDi at the pumps
Hi all, I got a polo 9n TDi back in Feb 05 as my first ever car. It always takes me ages to fill it at the pumps - even on an near empty tank the pump keeps cutting out, this is at every petrol station I've been to. To fill it I have to be very gentle with the handle, and basically let the diesel tr...

I have a 400quid excess on my insurance, and in anycase, really want to build up my no claims so might ju...

Dented my 6 day old :( :(
Arghhhh :( :( :( :(, I was round a friends house and misjudged a parking bollard. http://www.yeungs.net/sam/dent.jpg I feel like a right idiot, and dead upset :( Would you advise trying to repair that myself? or do you think its beyond the pulling out and polishing. I just want it back to normal so ...

Re: Installing a VW Beta into a Mk4 Polo
Hello, Forum newbie here, hope that someone can help... I have been after a stereo for my 1996 Polo - nothing too astounding, just something that plays music! So, I bought a Beta head unit off Ebay (picture of one similar to mine - http://dipattista.at/mario/bilder/beta2.JPG ) It's simple to instal...

Thanks again n3oNx, Yep, the ISO plugs generally only have power, and maybe antenna relay. The confusing this is that the ISO plug on the polo seems to be different. On my 9n with the beta radio, the ISO plug had an extra k-line, and speed pulse line. And the constant power and acc position power li...

Cool! thanks for the info. It does make a perfect place for storing a hideaway unit..jrw wrote:Its the Ventilation motor box. Believe me I have seen that enough times taking my dash apart!
You should be able to store it there if there is room as there is no external workings hanging out or anything.

gap under the glove box compartment on passenger side.
_____ / | Glove box \__ |\__/ __ \_______/ \ ***** \ Sorry about the crappy ascii art, if you imagine the glove compartment cross section. You have the storage lip just underneat the glove box door. On the underside there is a plastic cover, which is held in place by two screws and a catch at the b...
