With your budget I'd suggest H&R Supersport springs (the lower of the 2 options)
Coilovers at this price point are poor quality and the ride will be unbearable.

Re: Lowering springs
The arch gap on the 6c is one of the worst I've seen. It clearly sits way too high as std. We've added the H&R Supersport springs to the wife's car and it sits great now. It's quite firm however. She runs 215/40 tyres with no issues, but can't comment on your set up unfortunately. Sent from my S...

Re: Lowering springs
You sure that ain't a typo fella?? 225/45 is way too big. OE is 215/40R17.
I'm surprised you ain't rubbing on std springs.

You might be offered the opportunity to attend a speed awareness course.

Re: New GTI
Here's my wife's oryx white with H&R supersport springs (the low ones) They've been on two weeks and she's insisting I take em off and return to standard. Too stiff she reckons. £100 if anyone wants them. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170609/904a37a1860c74f10418e25b169b7b8d.jpg Sent from my...

Polo 6C GTi H&R Springs.
I fitted these to the wife's car 2 weeks ago and she doesn't like them. Seems they're too stiff for her liking. Personally I think they're great but she's having none of it. So, they're for sale. 2wks old and less than 500 miles on them. Part number is 28974-2 (the low ones) I'm in Scotland, but can...

Re: New GTI
H&R supersport. These are the lower version and make it sit sweet.
Part number is 28974-2.
Get them on eBay for around £120.

Re: have you modified your polo??
Hi, picked up my new polo gto lasy friday and i love it, but like all of us im thinking how can improve it (if possible). If you had between £400 - £500 to spend on a modification/s what would everyone recommend? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170530/264d808668aa0c512978de02b7e44a50.jpg Sent fr...

Re: Front shocks leaking oil
Sounds as though the change in shocks working length with the shorter springs has affected the seals or you twisted the shocks body when refitting and tightening the top bearing- easily done if you slip with the spanner and key. This can break the seals. Yeah, I'm thinking the latter. Having run lo...

Re: Front shocks leaking oil
The car has 18k on the clock. Shocks were as new when fitting the springs. Drove for an hour after fitting and parked up. A few hours later there was a large puddle of oil on the drive. No DCC, just normal set up. Surely fitting std springs is not the solution? Must be loads of cars out there runnin...
