Re: Gti engine Sound
Well
Hooked up with a guy nearby who has a GPF fitted gti, 20.000km.
His engine sounds just like mine.
Guess thats how they should sound.

Re: Gti engine Sound
Thx man.
The knocking is from the engine.
I do also hear pops from the exhaust.
This is annoying.

Gti engine Sound
We have a 2018 pre-GPF GTI+ and a 2019 GPF equipped GTI+ in our household - neither make any untoward drivetrain noises under any circumstances. Can you double check that. Hot engine. Stationary and gently rev from 1700-2500, up and down Would be very usefull. Maybe even a video of it. Ps. Mine is ...

Re: Gti engine Sound
It might be that you're around the threshold of Budack cycle/Otto cycle switchover, which seems to be around 20kW output on the performance monitor screen. Can't say I've felt or heard the switchover myself, I just notice the instant mpg increase significantly as a step change below 20kW output. We...

Re: Gti engine Sound
Vw has looked at the car. They say it’s the camshaft adjustment devices. But since no errors appear, they wont change any parts.
I would say that the knocking is quite easy to hear.

Gti engine Sound
Hi guys. Any bid on where this sound (knocking) comes from? It’s loudest around 2000 rpm if i feather the throttle. There are no bad sounds at cold start. The knocking is also not present when the enigne is started and in “cold start mode”. https://youtu.be/Zv3IBkLVmx8 Sent from my iPhone using Tapa...

Any more pictures of the car with 225’ ?S_94 wrote:Got some pictures at hand if that helps.
I bought the PS4's on monkeyhanger's recommendation. Would recommend anyone else do the same, they have improved the car ten fold. And having the protective lip is a benefit!

Well... here it is [emoji4] Hi fazzy. Is your car with gpf or without? Cheers GTIs built before Aug 18 didn't have them as standard. Although depending on where you are, you can do a delete without being in trouble with the law. Mine came without a d it feels somewhere between 5 and 10% more powerf...

Re: Removal of buttons (SS, pdc etc.)
I'm assuming you pull up the DSG surround which contains the Start / Stop button, thus giving you access to the side of the buttons. MJ On the Scirocco (for which I switched out the manual normal gearknob for the far better feeling R variant), you put the selector into an upright position (like 3rd...
