Re: DTUK Box, peoples reviews and reliability
I hope not, i'm going to hand the car back in 2-3 years i don't think i will keep it any longer so i want to keep the warranty and dont want any TD1 flags. Plus im interested about the need for an uprated clutch due to extra torque.

Re: DTUK Box, peoples reviews and reliability
Hi DTUK polo, I'm a member of that page and I have seen a lot of stuff posted but not relay seen someones review of one eg after a years or running with a manual and what they have found reliability wise ect? Just wondering also if any people with the manuals have had to replace their clutch a year ...

DTUK Box, peoples reviews and reliability
Hi, I'm thinking of getting a DTUK box at the end of the year and i'm wondering what peoples opinions/ experiences are with it. I have a manual car so i'm not worried about the gearbox or torque ect, just want to know what people think in: 1) day to day driving and when you put your foot down 2) Cha...

Re: 35 or 39 psi
Hi, the pressures are just advised and in general the less air pressure in the tyre the more grip and the more air the more economical due to the change in the contact patch of the tyre and road. The police will only fine you if your running stupidly stretched tyres or if your tyres are worn low, th...

Re: Mixed my front tyre brands - advice needed
I understand what you are saying but I think that it is far over the top to worry about fitting a tyre that is the same brand and model and has the same speed ratings ect just because it was not purchased from the manufacturer. They have the VW badge on them because they were in the deal and allocat...

Re: Mixed my front tyre brands - advice needed
Why don't you just get a bridgestone tyre that you need from openeo or black circles and get it fitted by the quick fit for free. To be honest the bridgestones as standard are pretty crappy and I am looking forward to fitting some Goodyear f1 asymmetric 3s that will give the car much all round grip ...

Re: Reverse Mirror Tilt 6C GTI
Do what I do, save loads of hassle and just manually lower the mirror every time it comes to parallel parking, takes an extra 10 seconds to tilt it but that s better than £80 for a wheel refurb.

Re: Help with 6C GTI
Hi McZippy, The sequential gearbox in a F1 car is there because they do reduce the gear change speed from 1 sec to around 0.1 seconds and allow hands to be on the wheel constantly. The DSG box on the Golf R and Golf GTI do make the car faster as they are the 6 speed versions that can take more torqu...

Re: Help with 6C GTI
I have driven both, and i now own a manual. The DSG gave noticeable less kick in the back compared to the manual so you will notice a difference, the manual pulls hard from 40 mph in 3rd all the way to 105 mph in gear 3 (pushing the engine to 7,000 rpm mind you) therefore for most country roads and ...

Re: 95/99 Ron - Strange results
I have done similar back to back tests and posted up here before on another thread. Found no difference between the 2 at all, what makes all the difference to the mpg comparing the two is how many miles I drive with the sport button pressed in, mpg always goes down as i accelerate to hear the grumbl...

Re: Manual vs DSG torque availability?
Basically the sport mode makes the car hold on to the gear longer/ shift higher up rev range /higher up the torque curve allowing the car to "reach maximum torque levels"

Re: Clunking brakes 2016 GTI
Hi, I have had the same problem with the 6c gti brakes from new, the clicking/ clunking you describe that you get when parking dissappeared after 300- 400 miles, so did the high pitch squeak at very low speeds when braking. There was an old thread where this was mentioned and quite a few people with...
