Would it be a good idea to use premium petrol (V power etc) ?
I know this has more detergents/additives to help keep the engine clean and although it does not reach the valves and seats it might keep the injectors/plugs working more efficiently............or is it a waste on money.

Direct Injection (TSI) Engines
Reading about direct injection engines one of the problems seems to be carbon build up behind the valves. This is not a problem on MPI engines as the port injection cleans the valves on entry whereas in direct injection the injectors go directly into the cylinder. Is this a big problem that can shor...

Re: Collected my new Polo yesterday.
The Polo Probably has the same engine as the UP TSI and a similar suspension which is why it doesn't feel quieter or smoother, although the Polo is a more expensive car so you would expect more sound deadening material in it.

Re: Arm Rest
I think it does. There are other threads on the 6r/6c board where members have retro-fitted this armrest - suggest you use the search facility and you should be able to find them, which should also confirm whether or not it would fit the 6c GTI. If your car’s a manual, bear in mind that when the ar...

Manual Air Con Stays on when you next operate the blower, remembers last setting.

Re: Front tyre replacement 185x60x15
Had many makes over the years Continental, Avon, Firestone and Dunlop etc, etc but must admit I'm a bit of a Michelin fan.... they've always been (for me) fairly quiet, long lasting and held the road as good as the others I've had......but they're not cheap. Considering Michelin cross climates for m...

Winter Tyres V Michelin Cross Climates
I used winter tyres on my previous car and now we've had a bit more of the white stuff I'm thinking of getting some steel wheels and winter tyres for the Polo. Anyone had experience of Michelin Cross Climates (which would save me a set of rims) or is it a case of dedicated winter tyres are best. We ...

Re: Traces of oil having been thrown around the pulley area of s CJZD 1.2TSI engine
You do say " nothing showing on the inner face of that compressor pulley" so surely it's dribbling/weeping/leaking from elsewhere on to the AC assembly.

Re: Traces of oil having been thrown around the pulley area of s CJZD 1.2TSI engine
I'm sure you know a lot more about the Polo's than I do RUM4MO and I don't know what is causing your problem but it does remind me of a problem I had many years ago with a Metro. Coolant was everywhere under the bonnet so as it was under warranty it went back to the main dealers. They said it's a co...
