Re: 10k/nearly a year with the 6C GTI

Get your car mapped, a set of eibach springs and an exhaust and it will be 50% better, trust me... :)

I've come from an M135, a stage 4.25 GT-R and a 720bhp E63amg and I absolutely love my polo now I've done the above mods. Standard the car is , well , a tad dull....

Re: Turbo

I am considering fitting the is38 from the golf r, combined with intake, clutch, intercooler and decat, the polo should make 380ish , proper Q car then. Trouble is, how will a relatively light weight fwd car with e39 M5 power cope....

Re: Turbo

My gti is a Nov2015 with the old turbo. Car had done 5k miles when I decided to get it mapped . The turbo blew within 2 miles on the drive home!

Gutted! Ended up paying for the newer turbo out of my own pocket!

Re: Car Handling Coilovers? or Damper & Springs?

I fitted eibach springs to my polo which gave a nice drop and improved ride quality. Cost £330 , supply, fit and geo.

Re: Anyone tuned 6c gti beyond stage 1?

Nice. I have seen them going for £400 odd on eBay. Good for around 340bhp on our cars I guess . Im guessing you'd need to take a look at upgrading injectors/fuel pump and a custom map, def. Intercooler and clutch! i'd definitely be getting brand new one as there has been issues with them in the pas...

Re: Anyone tuned 6c gti beyond stage 1?

We shall have to agree to disagree! (And the thousands of other performance car owners that decat their car !)

To keep the peace, let's just say im fitting a 200 cell sports-cat , so , has anyone here gone down that route? I guess the first thing to go will be the clutch

Re: Anyone tuned 6c gti beyond stage 1?

Presumably you use your car on the road? If so then I'd say one of the issues is that a de-cat isn't legal for road use in the UK. As you'll need to declare your de-cat mod to your insurer, they (or any other insurer) are highly unlikely to insure a car with a de-cat exhaust that's used on public r...

Anyone tuned 6c gti beyond stage 1?

Interested in feedback from anyone who has gone beyond stage 1 , I currently have AMD software and cobra non res exhaust + eibach springs and the car is damn near perfect, but I'm tempted to do de-cat, even air box and stage 2 software , anyone gone this far ?
How does it drive? Any issues ?
