Re: Ridiculous condensation

Well if it is the cause, I’ll pursue Halfords all the way to court if necessary.

Re: Ridiculous condensation

Wow, I should've checked your link to the install - that is terrible as first effort, and if they've cut into your boot electrics rubber gaiter/sheath then that is also terrible- absolutely no need as I was able to demonstrate with my own fitment that you can disconnect the gaiter at both ends, fee...

Re: Ridiculous condensation

Thanks. Interestingly, the space where the spare wheel goes is bone dry. Hopefully I’m just jumping to conclusions and it’s something else unrelated to the camera. Also interesting is that the piece of carpet just below the seats but just above the footwell is bone dry! So if water was running from ...

Re: Ridiculous condensation

All the doors and seals seem ok to me. The reason I thought of the rear dashcam was because of how they messed about with the seal in the boot at the first attempt. They said it was a poor job on reflection and rectified it by feeding the cables down the tube where the cables for the heated rear scr...

Re: Ridiculous condensation

Getting back to the source problem, i.e. the wet rear passenger side footwell, I thought I’d see how bad it is after days of torrential rain. Squelch squelch squelch! The carpet is sodden! Booked in on the 17th after the debacle in November! If my theory proves correct, in that it’s down to the fitt...

Re: Poor warm up and de-misting

I made a lengthy topic on this issue. I bought 2 of those dehumidifier pads and a nice windscreen cover for when it gets frosty. Both have helped.

Re: Ridiculous condensation

Agreed. I had a Golf 1.9TDi which would just about warm up fully after a 7 mile journey to work, mostly A38. Same journey now and the Polo is warmed up by 3 miles maybe 4. My journey to work has increased to 12 miles now. Car re-booked for 17th of December after the debacle listed several posts ago.

Re: Difficult to start on hill without burning clutch

Reading this, I’ve found another reason I’m glad I had DSG. Just need to resolve the wet carpet issue now

Re: Ridiculous condensation

It's not pure bunkum in the sense I meant it. Careful driving is crucial, that much is true but I meant it's lucky or perhaps judgment in some cases on your part that you have not encountered conditions that cannot be countered by skill. (Extreme hypothetical example would be driving a Ferrari in he...

Re: Ridiculous condensation

Woo-woo?

Digressing here massively but what about the bloke who forgot his computer on 9/11 and went back home for it and subsequently missed the carnage?

If luck doesn’t exist, is this fate? He was always meant to forget it on that day?

*shudders at the thought of that scenario!

Re: Ridiculous condensation

Any result that does not favour your preference is always wrong of course.

It really is more by luck than judgment. 4 winter tyres are far more stable and safe and that’s a fact.
