Re: Kwikfit free brake check

Never use Kwikfit. They "WILL" find something wrong even if it's not your brakes. They once told me that my gas shocks were leaking oil!!!

Have you checked that your brake lights work? It may still be brake light switch related.

G-Werks are the best if you want a charger rebuilt. Good luck if you need a replacement charger. They are as rare as....... and you will need very deep pockets if you are lucky enough to find one. It will be a good idea to get onto the Corrado Forum, there's loads of good info and friendly people on...

It may be the small metal tab which IIRC supplies either a positive or neg supply to the horn. It has to supply constantly so makes contact to a ring which turns when you turn the steering wheel. Some light grease or oil should do the trick.

You may well get through the MoT as your wipers and washers are working, all be it not the way they are supposed to! It sounds like you may have a problem with either a relay or the wiper control arm.

If a Polo has rust at this age there has got to be something wrong. I would avoid it at all costs unless it's being given away!

I've just had a moan to VW Customer Services and they are going to get back to me. How can they recall the GTI and not the other models? I'll let you know how I get on....
