@grazuncle2 Yes it is the same for Polo, VW group share alot of common things among the models. The trunk light and makeup light is pretty simple just place some plastic tool behind and pop it out gently. You can Youtube that one too, if you are unsure. It shows your engine hood is open, probably not closed properly. Open the hood and close it.

Installed front hood struts,
