Hey peeps, thanks for the good response. I have been to the local junkyard today and had a gander for some tubes and pipes. came out with a big dirty pipe from a clio and a shorter but fatter pipe from a fiat bravo. heres the finished result: http://img460.imageshack.us/img460/8953/dsc00021uv1.jpg W...

Cheers for the replies. Dj milky, i was also thinking of connecting it the way you have done it. the reason i havent put it directly on top of the throttle body is that the cone is too large to fit on top, and has to be angled slightly for the bonnet to close properly. this cant be good for airflow ...

Yeah, I've checked the Haynes too. Looks like its a problem which cant be fixed really. Im not sure on how much it is to get the arches alone done, as i had a new front panel replaced, resprayed and fitted, some other rusty spots sorted and other bits and bobs. It was also my dads mate so overall it...

Fuel filler flap

Hey folks. I recently took my car in for bodywork repairs (rusty rear wheel arches ) and as i went to fill the tank when i got it back, i tried to open the fuel filler flap, but it was jammed so i used more force and it panged open and shot out a thin peice of metal which is shaped like an S. ...

Have you sorted this problem?

I have the same issue, all other switches and lights light up fine but just the three heater controls dont seem to work. I took off the fascia and there is no signs of a bulb!

Cheers

Sorted, although he charged me £15 to clear the ECU! (he said this was necessary) so that topped it off at £102. Shocking, i know, just to replace a sensor. Lets hope it doesnt go again anytime soon. There isnt really anyway of checking whether its working is there? It doesnt effect everyday drivi...

It probably won't if you steer clear of carb cleaner! My thoughts are that it only happens with the engine running, and most people do this because it says so on the can! Don't do it, just spray plenty down there with the engine dead and then fire her up and then lightly rev for a little while.

Hello Thanks for the replies. I paid my local dealer a visit today to get a quote on the parts & labour; obviously, being VW, they quoted me £160 something. So i went to a small independant garage solely owned by one mechanic and he quoted me £71 parts & labour (the extra pound must be 50%...

Lambda Sensor (Oxygen Sensor)

Hi I recently ran VAG-COM diagnostics on my car, and it found two faults: 00525- Oxygen Sensor (G39) 03-10 - No Signal - Intermittent 00522 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62) 30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent Now we found that the faulty coolant temperature sensor was that cause of h...

You didn't spray some more carb cleaner down the TB once you fitted the new temp sensor did you? Dunno why it would idle at 900 and then creep up after a while of driving?! Unless there was so much carb cleaner already in there that it buggered it up again. Don't take my word for this but has the la...
