Re: Wheel centres for 15" Melbourne alloy wheels. Anyone?
Hi RUM4MO, Thanks for the reply. Pity they've 'gone', sounded ideal. Proving very difficult to find a set. As I said, second hand is no problem, as long as they're in fair condition. Don't have to be perfect or new, just not overly worn or bubbling paint. Fingers crossed and I'll keep trying on here...

Wheel centres for 15" Melbourne alloy wheels. Anyone?
Hi guys, Been trying to get a decent set of wheel centres for the alloy wheels on the Polo but can't find any anywhere. Just wondered if anyone on here has a set kicking about after changing wheels. The ones I've got are pretty naff now and a set of new sticky backed ones (90mm) off fleabay are just...

Re: Steering fluid reservoir cap
Hi littlepolo, Glad you got it off....was it the long pliers or just sheer bloody minded ness and scraped knuckles?!! Fluid seems okay to me....maybe compare with some fresh from a bottle. Not sure about the level...as you say, not an obvious fill level mark on the 'stick'. Does the reservoir have a...

Re: Location of paint code label.
Hi guys, Thanks for all the replies, good info, clearly some knowledgeable people on here. Good site. After faffin about for a bit, I just rang VW in Inverness, got through to the parts dept and a good bloke took my cars reg and read me back the paint code. Simple as that. I asked him if he kept rat...

Re: Steering fluid reservoir cap
Hi littlepolo, I'm still fairly unfamiliar with the car as yet but did a quick Youtube search and watched vid on topping up fluids. Looks a pig to get at but have you tried long handled pliers, sometimes called Plumbers Pliers or Chicken Legs. May give you a bit of reach and leverage. I'll give mine...

Re: Location of paint code label.
Not sure if this is any use but here the little beast is.
I've looked at available paints for Polo's of that period, on-line and still not sure. My pics are either flash or a bit vague.

Re: Location of paint code label.
Hi guys, Thanks for the replies and info. Bloody typical...car didn't come with a handbook..so that rules that route out. littlepolo....a sort of metallic blue colour. Not dark or light...sort of midrange blue! Carbonchaos...had a quick look under the carpet in the boot area, nothing. Is it likely t...

Location of paint code label.
Hi all, Rob here, still a newbie. I've just bought a 2004 1.4 TDI Sport. I've read a lot of posts and bit on the t'interweb about where the paint code can be found. As yet, I've had no luck. I've looked under the bonnet around engine bay and if it's there, it's not obvious. I've looked in the boot a...

Re: How do you extend alarm time before starting car?
Hi Carbonchaos, Thanks for the reply. It's been pishing down here all day (for three weeks) so I've done nothing with the car...I live on the side of a mountain next to Ben Nevis and don't have a garage so I'm a bit dependant on the weather for outside 'stuff'. Not sure about the interior light but ...

How do you extend alarm time before starting car?
Hi all, Just bought a 2004 Polo Sport 1.4 Tdi (9n) for my son and among a few other issues I want to sort is the very short period between opening the car using the key in the drivers door (apparently this model does not have remote locking, despite the key fob having buttons for it) and the alarm s...

Remote buttons on key fob not working.
Hi all, Rob here, new to the car and site so please bear with me if questions seem a bit basic. I''ve just bought a 2004 1.4 Polo Sport for my son and am running through any faults evident. Sorted the rear wiper issue (remains of last wiper arm seized on to the shaft)...had to resort to careful hack...
