My 1980 Mk1 GLS - 58k miles

I had arranged to sell the car a few weeks ago but the buyer has dropped out due to unexpected circumstances so it's back on the market! I'm after a good home for the car and preferably someone who will keep it fairly standard as it really is too good to mess with. Please let me know if you're inter...

Ah, that's a shame. What year is it? I take it pretty early as it's yellow and I'm not sure they made the later ones in that colour. Someone should rescue it! :D

Karl - See this one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18303&item=2479003101&rd=1 Exactly the same model as mine! Good condition too, the guy has been trying to sell it for a while, must have decided on ebay now. Low mileage too, thought mine was barely ru...

The G40 brakes are no different in size to standard except they're vented. They should fit under your steelies(but may need minor mods depending on the offset) The thing with these is that upgraded discs are readily available. Ah right, would I need different calipers then for G40 discs or will the...

86C - cheers for the info! :D What size are G40 brakes then, are they 239mm like Mk1 Golf GTI ones? If I went for something like that would they fit under the standard Mk polo 13inch steelies I have on there? Forgive my ignorance but what size are the standard Mk1 polo brakes I already have, I know ...

Mk1 Brakes Question

Hi All, I need to improve the braking on my Mk1 Polo. It's currently all standard and I don't want to alter it too much so I thought as a first step I'd change the discs/pads to good standard ones, have a look at the drums and renew the fluid/bleed the system. I know Mk1 brakes are never great but m...

I gave up trying to remove the tank from my Mk1 Polo (had a leaker filler neck) and just fixed it in situ instead. I think there are a couple of bolts towards the front of the car, a strap thingy and a few clips but the main problem is juggling out the filler neck - very tight fit!

Good luck. :D
