I wonder if anybody else has experienced this problem After some driving a shudder is felt through the steering wheel, and when applying the brakes it is intensified. At first I beleived the near side front wheel brake was sticking. this weekend I had all the wheels off and cleaned all the calipers ...

just a question since its in topic, if youre scheduled to change your clutch, would it be a good idea to get a nice reasonably priced clutch upgrade? e.g. black diamond performance clutch kits? Yes im considering a uprated clutch replacement. I have seen 'Sach' clutches for £90 mentioned somewhere...

Thats right mate. Just been qouted £543 for new clutch including new cable by VW.

I had the Haynes for my Punto Sporting and it was more like a Heinz Manual to be honest.

Just bought my GTI and its at 57k so I'm considering getting the bearings changed soon rather than waiting for a serious gearbox problem which might result in me having to source a recon gearbox!
