Re: Spark plug socket stuck
Thanks for the reply, think your right on the hex part. Never had the problem before, used it on my old 20valve turbo engine which had a long tube like the current engine and 16 valve engines but I think I may have to get a professional to look at this one.

Was servicing my 64 plate Blue GT at the weekend, oil, filters plugs etc. All going well until the last job which was to change the spark plugs. Removed the 1st coil pack and put the spark plug socket on the end of and extension bar down the hole, it went down the hole fine and slipped onto the spar...

Re: Engine not running right
Sounds like it is putting itself into limp mode (safe mode) for some reason. Best to have it scanned (VAGCOM) to see if there are any faults logged in the ECU.

Selection of wheel spacers
As title, prices don't include delivery, this would have to be calculated once spacers are wrapped up or collected from Edinburgh. All are VW centre bore of 57.1mm Set of 4 bolt on H&R hubcentric spacers 25mm (50mm across the axle). 5x100, 57.1MM centre bore. Would split into 2 sets. £50 for set...

Re: External return spring for rear callipers
Same as above. Not sure if they have improved them internally but they look the same externally hence why I chucked a spare set I had on just to be on the safe side.

Re: Spax Springs
I had Spax -40mm springs and matching dampers on my 9n3 GTI, found them very harsh and uncomfortable, only lasted about a month before I removed them and bought a set of good quality coilovers.

Re: STICKING BRAKES
Just read the owners manual myself and it appears not but a certain criteria must be met for it to activate. Taken from the owners manual. Conditions 1 to 3 must be met at the same time 1. On an incline, the stationary vehicle must be held in position with the footbrake until the vehicle starts movi...

Re: STICKING BRAKES
As above, pretty certain it is the hill hold system kicking in. It holds the car for the second it takes for you reaching the bite point of the clutch in a hill start situation after releasing the handbrake.
Check the owners manual for more detailed info.

Re: Ordering a new Polo GTi
Can confirm that you keep all the incentives that VW offer if you buy the car through VW Finance. The day after I got the car home I phoned VW Finance and just said I would like to withdraw from the finance agreement and the lady on the phone gave me a settlement figure which included a days interes...
