you will need to prime if its not already, use plastic primer on bumpers etc... if its primed i usualy rub it down and re prime it. you will know when its enough coats becase it will be the correct colour. :lol: but usualy 2/3 will be enough depending on how you have thinned the paint. I have a 2.0L golf throttle body here on my desk.. as usual im planing things which will never work but seems good in my head.. Would this fit onto an AEX engine? There is deffinatly an 8V 1.6L AFT engine. Mabey it was only used in the golf?! I was told about two engines. 1.4L 16V 100bhp and 1.6L 8V 100BHP I guessed both were polo but the other must have just been the golf? AEK AFT and AKS are the 100BHP 1.6 8V. 100BHP AFT engine
Hi, I have a 1.4L AEX engine and i know the 1.6L AEE engine is a nice easy swap only needing a few diffrent parts. Does any one know what would be needed if i was to change to the AFT 100BHP Engine? Is the gearbox diffrent? Loom? ECU? etc? Or will most of the AEX engine parts fit. things the starter...

They are hydralic lifters, Four things will cause them to tap. Wear to the surface of the cam lobe, Wear to the lifter face, Blocked oil ways and lifter failure. Initaly i would say tappits but these engines make a light TICK noise and if it was worn on the surface, the temperature wouldnt effect it. Piston slap is common on these engines, but thats usualy louder when cold and goes when warm, or at least quietens down. thats more of a rattly knock. Cant real...
