Another year & MOT complete; Same indifferent Dealer

Hope everyone is keeping safe and well despite all the crazy. It was MOT time for our Polo 6R so it was dutifully booked into our local Main Dealer. Last MOT they had stated (as advisory) the top strut mounts had some play but not excessive. So this year they had started to become noisy and at time ...

Re: Few niggles to fix - advice welcome

Thanks for contributing RUM4MO. I did find your posts on Briskoda forum from way back when...it gave the confidence that it can be done. This garage turned it around in 24HRS - they seemed to say all the right things when I questioned them. They came in on budget and the car seems fine (sound and re...

Re: Few niggles to fix - advice welcome

Thanks Guys. On recommendation of a couple of people I took it to a specialist exhaust and welding place who took a look and say they can cut out the damaged flexi and weld a new one. Its going to cost £250-odd so I've agreed the cost to repair. I'm sure it'll come back fixed, just hope the replacem...

Re: Few niggles to fix - advice welcome

Well it seems bad news - the exhaust is indeed leaking but from the exhaust flexi connection - which I understand makes the repair quite labour intensive and part cost is expensive too. Sadly it’s time to part with the Polo.

At least the electrics were just a blown fuse and x2 bulbs needed replacing.

Few niggles to fix - advice welcome

As a key worker family we’ve been using the Polo all through lockdown and moreso now as routines return to a degree of normality. First problem that surfaced was a bulb out warning in dash. Tracked it down to a blown OSR rear bulb. I went to replace it and I think I blew a fuse (oddly) and lost all ...

VW Warranty - Renewal data point

Hope all y’all are keeping safe and well in these unusual times. I wanted to share a data point for renewal cost of the VW Extended Warranty. Our car is a 2011 Polo 1.4 DSG 6R and was bought as an AUC in 2017. In our ownership it has always been under VW Extended warranty due to my gambling the DSG ...

Re: Usual F*ckery from local VW Main Dealer

Would you believe it, claim accepted without fuss by VW Warranty (kudos to them).

...Dealer surprised VW Warranty didn’t ask for further information but did reference my conversation with them of earlier. These are the same f*****g morons who charge £150 +VAT per hour

Usual F*ckery from local VW Main Dealer

I posted in another thread my Mother’s Polo 6C was going for it’s annual MOT, well it has and the usual fuckery is afoot  Got a text this morning with a link to a video which, upon viewing, was the technician giving a voiceover to advise MOT had been passed with no advisories. Went to collect ...

Re: DSG recall 2008 to 2015?

Not a chance VW will do that here. They extended Warranties for similar cars in the US and China and it seems now they’re doing so in Australia, heck they don’t even acknowledge dieselgate in the U.K. (no compensation or buy back in this Country) so this has zero chance. My Mother loves the brand so...

Re: Does a Water pump replacement also need timing belt done?

Just want to lend my support to the above, VW themselves confirm the petrol engine found in the Polo 6C 1.2 Tsi (CJCZ) does not require water pump to be changed when you replace timing belt...so that’s something, wonder where the Dealer will make up the lost revenue now

Re: Flexible servicing

Defo. use the VW price match against your Dealer. I have posted my successes on this site and have had a lot of success with it. I just wish my Dealer would stop asking me to provide a written quote every time as they know by now I can get one if needed  I am currently jumping through the s...

Re: Cambelt Change Interval

We are having to deal with this variable conundrum ourselves  I do recall exchanging correspondence with VW UK when I bought my mother her Polo 6C (1.2 Tsi CJCZ) as a Das Welt last year it would be due a belt change at 5 years old. So as it was almost 4 years old then and 60K, I accepted there...

Re: Genuine Used VW Polo 6C DISCOVER NAVIGATION DAB SYSTEM

I have bought a couple of items for the Polo 6r in my family from JIC Cracked. The first was the purchase of the 9W7 premium genuine factory Bluetooth kit and more latterly, high line cluster - both transactions completed without issue or hitch. Fully and correctly coded to my Polo and each has been...

Re: Main Dealer Service and VW Extended Warranty Experience

The Dealer in group in question is Lancaster. A key consideration in us extending the warranty with VW directly was the fact it should make any claims easier to handle and third party warranties are not worth the paper they are written on. I did not expect so much resistance from my dealer in submit...
