Someone did have one very similar but with Porsche Boxster wheels

Yeah they will fit, but you will need 195/205 45 16 tyres rather than the 55 profile they would have on them for the mk4

Mounting holes are the same on both 3 and 5 door seats

Is it a 1.9 or 1.4 tdi? Could be a few things from the N75 valve playing up to the actuator in the turbo. See if you can get a fault code reader on it and see what codes are stored. One thing to try turn the ignition so that the electrics are on but the engine in not running, lift the bonnet and see...

Eibach pro street 30mm springs.

Im going to have to give this ago soon too.

You could try Eibach pro street springs, I had them before the coilovers and miss the ride quality.

I don't have the same engine as you so cant say how the ride will be.

I only found out after my mate sold a set of MK5 heated leathers for next to nothing on ebay

MK5/6 front seat are a straight fit, no modding needed.

Do you know if the windscreen has been replaced?

Have a look at the logo on the windscreen (Should be near the tax disc iirc), if it does not have the little vw symbol then its been replaced badly.
