be careful john_polov mate when mine ran out in april i had 2 options 1. vw customer care gave me a number for vw extended warranty and on my 2001 1.4 tdi it was £402 for 1 year and £674 for 2. that was supposed to be a complete extension of the existing one with no exclusions for increased wear b...

have you tried ringing the vw garage about the airbox. if you get a decent service chap he might even open it for you if you take it in.

you realise that if you crash and the insurance company get an inkling that you use it most they wont pay out. so by putting mods on it you are making it look like your car. unless your dad is into mods that is.

i understand that your can extend the 3 yr manufacturers warranty on the vw when the original one runs out. will i be contacted by the dealer about this or do i need to chase it up myself. if, by chance, anyone has taken this out. do they think it was worth the money. i dont know how much it costs. ...

does anyone know how to get at the bulbs behind the ventilation controls. i have tried pulling the middle one but it didnt want to budge. do i have to turn it to a cerain position? or am i not pulling it hard enough.

put rear washer pipe back on at 20k. and had to replace boot lock becuase the water had damaged it. the dashboard light has never worked since. rear brakes/handbrake squeeching and grinding from about 4k now at 30k they have seized 2x. in between various vw garages have carried out work on the brake...

cheers for the response speedlaw. by issuing the update to the brake system i think vw have admitted there is a problem with all mk 5 polos. they just havent called it a recall.

i have a tdi. which has the disc brakes which the gti has. i would check the handbrake out. i have problems with mine sqeaking for 2yrs and now the brakes sieze up. the garage have tried 15x to fix it and vw have issued a techinal update to the brake system (dec 2003) which by the way didnt make any...
