Re: 2014 spec. BlueGT finally here :)

Hmm I just don't really see what advantage you'd get from a 2.0 TDI, its barely even more economical than the 1.4 TSI and is the same tax band.

Re: 2014 spec. BlueGT finally here :)

Ibiza and A1 are offered with the 2.0 TDI so its definitely possible on this chassis. Engine doesn't suit the car very well though, its a hell of a lot of weight over the front wheels compared to the small capacity petrol engines. Performance and handling is as a result compromised.

Ha! The MK7 GTI is an amazingly talented all rounder that is a very difficult to beat. I'd like one also - but expensive :D

Re: Polo BlueGT - time to say goodbye

Noticed you had a Mk6 Golf GTI before, how would you say they compare? I've considered swapping mine for a BlueGT but can't decide whether I'd get on with a smaller car again now I'm used to the bigger size.

The Mk 6 Golf (Which was a massive facelift of the Mk 5) didn't change chassisnumber either.

the 6N2 also had a 6N chassisnumber.
9N3 had a 9N number
Passat 3BG had a 3B number... and so on and so forth...
Golf went from 1K to 5K for Mk5 to Mk6

Re: What Polo to get?

Wouldn't buy a pre reg now unless it's mega cheap. Waiting for the facelift Polo makes more financial sense. It will hold it's value better as it's a new model whilst been nicer to own since it will remain current for several years to come.

Re: 1.4 85ps match fuel consumption

I used to consistently get 400+ miles to tank from mine but that was with mainly motorway driving with a 45mpg average. You need to make sure to brim it full and remember its only a 45 litre tank.

Re: Instrument Cluster swap, need information

Hi, we don't get the instrument cluster you have in the UK, ours looks the same as the Australian one. I can't see why you couldn't swap them over or better still upgrade to the Highline cluster from BlueGT/ GTI

Re: 2014 models to order from April 23rd 2014

Is the GTI sticking with the 1.4 twincharger? It is yes, up slightly to either 185/190 ps.. Can't remember which exactly! The first customer Deliveries for the GTI will only be in 2015 now though. Hmm has that been confirmed somewhere? Was previously suggested it would be replaced with the 1.8 TSI ...

What engine is it? 400 miles from a tank doesn't sound unreasonable as that roughly equates to 40mpg.

Very cheap Mk7 Golf/ facelift Polo style radio on eBay

Spotted this on eBay earlier, looks like VW has released the new generation MK7 Golf style head units to the Chinese market. Seems to pack quite a few features in with front mounted AUX, USB and SD card reader: http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Unused-New-Car-radio-Fit-for-VW-Golf-Jetta-Passat-Tiguan-with-USB-...

Oops, username and avatar implied differently! But yeah I'm of the opinion it's the cluster. I retrofitted second hand Highline clocks to a car I used to own and they did exactly the same when the OEM clocks didn't, so can only assume that's where the fault lies.
