Much as I've enjoyed my time with my 22 plate Polo Gti, it's time for a change (PCP up this coming September).
Don't want another Polo, as they seem to have got really expensive now. Not like they were cheap before I suppose :D
Only need a smaller car these days, as most of my driving (99%) is on ...

Car won’t start after bad stall 1.4FSI
Good afternoon
My friend has a 2006 polo 1.4fsi and is learning to drive on it. It’s been driving absolutely fine until he stalled it quite badly and it now won’t start.
I’ve checked for spark and there is some but on one cylinder it’s a bit weak but I’m not too worried about that as surely it ...

Re: Polo 9n3 2008 1.4 BUD ticking/knocking sound
The noise on my 1.4 BBY is also noticeable on the o/s. I purchased a stethoscope but have not yet used it to try and pinpoint the origin. I read that the teflon(?) coating can wear off the pistons and cause a knocking sound. Not sure if No 1 is more susceptible but that is definitely the side where ...

Re: Polo 9n3 2008 1.4 BUD ticking/knocking sound
Also I have the exact same engine in my polo, this one is my other half’s with the ticking sound, and it is far louder on her car than mine, hence why I’m worried

Re: Polo 9n3 2008 1.4 BUD ticking/knocking sound
Have a knock sensor code occasionally; but it generally sounds like from cam side of engine so really unsure what it is

Re: Polo 9n3 2008 1.4 BUD ticking/knocking sound
Is it worse in colder weather than warm? Less noticeable over 2000 rpm and under way? They all do it... See my earlier threads on this. Make sure you are using the correct oil. Provided no DTC codes and otherwise drives well learn to live with it. Mpg?

Polo 9n3 2008 1.4 BUD ticking/knocking sound
Hi I recently purchased with my other half, a Polo 9n3 1.4 BUD Automatic, there is a very noticeable ticking sound coming from driver side of engine (Uk) It increases with revs and when driving and let off the throttle it stops but as soon as you touch accelerator it starts again, is also present at ...

2020 GTI+ B Pillar Noise
Hi All,
Long time lurker here, I am just sharing if anyone could know what this noise is, I've had the car from new and it has always made this noise from the first year, to which I gave it to the dealer and they said they could not find a noise (I dont know how)
Anyways it comes and goes, I think ...

Steering knock 2021 Polo AW
Hi;
I am wondering if anyone has experienced a knocking/clunk noise when turning the steering wheel.
Occurs mainly when steering gear is warm and stationary.
Have checked the UJ joint and had rack and ends checked.
Cars under warranty so will probably get it booked in with VW.
A friend of ...

The RAC man turned it over, said straight away what he [thought] it was, you can hear knocking in the engine, so it's proper fooked. He said he can hear the air escaping where the valves are bent and not sealing
I guess its the tensioner that failed, otherwise I guess it ...

Hi mate, I’ve got the DSG version same year and my engine also sounds like this after the revs have dropped down after starting, I’m taking mine to the garage next Tuesday so I’ll update then if they find anything

GTi engine knocking noise
My g/f's 65 plate VW Polo GTi (manual, petrol, 58.5k miles) has recently started making a tapping/knocking noise from the engine. It's not a really loud noise but it is noticeable...it makes the engine sound slightly like a diesel. It was serviced/MOT'd about a month ago, so I don't think it's ...

Re: Vibration in floor and pedals 2019 polo GTI
Go back to the garage get them to road test, so they can tell, say Its only been knocking since you got it back.
Maybe exhaust, cable or a pipe is tapping

Fault code 03431 - Activation of left parking light Open circuit
Been a long time since I've posted here, but I still have my Polo!
I've recently run into some strange issues after removing and reinstalling the rear lights to do some cleaning behind the lights. I have done this a couple of times before while owning this car. Every time that I do this it has ...

Re: Pauls Polo 6R Trendline conversion road to OEM++
A few days later, and nothing changed. Well, that's not completely true. I fixed a knocking in the steering assembly (it turned out we forgot to tighten the nuts of the tie rod ends... whoops  ), also I installed the underbody covers and fiddled a bit with the exhaust, so that it doesn't touch ...
