That ET12 with an 8 inch width will hurt as the wheels will stick out of the arch. So your idea about rolling is a smart one. This setup on normal arches will rub, no question. Cool choice of wheels though!

Yeah the sump is key, but it's pretty high so I don't scrape it, ever.

This was last year, I dropped it some more afterwards. Need to shoot some pics of the height it's at now. Nothing dramatic by the way.

I have trouble getting out of my street every morning, it 'headbutts' the speedbump. Not nice, but it's doable... I have more trouble with driveshaft bumping (it's hitting the chassis).

I'm guessing 2,5 - 3 inches. But I haven't measured it.

Bumped to Car Care.

Halfords or VW sell this stuff, costs only minor money. I'm not a fan though, apply only if you know what you're doing - I've seen snail trails too often to be impressed by touch up pens...

I stuck to OE. Don't care for loudness other than my music :)

Just stick to the well known brands (Sebring, Remus, Supersprint) etc and you'll be fine. Can't substitue quality.

The mk4 handbrake lever has different mounting points, so it would sit off centre if you lob it straight in. With some work it should be possible. The mk3 handbrake lever is nearly identical as the Polo unit, but you need to loosen the cable a lot, it has a different lever point making it necesary (...

The switches are usually in the centre console, just below the radio/heat controls. You'd probably need a plug to fill the hole in the door card left by the winder.

So to answer your question:

Yes, all 1.4 16v's are DOHC. There are different codes (such as AFH, AFK, AUB, AQQ, etc) but all 1.4 16v engines are basically identical.

I'm still surprised lubing a dry (friction) belt has no disadvantages.

Whatever the case, I'll best shut up.

Sure, I have an idea. Go to someone else.

Squeaking means it's slipping, which could be wear or looseness. In both cases it's a normal fix (replace or adjust). No WD40.
