Got speaking to someone about this as I am considering this and he said this cannot be done, changing to a Mk3 GT camshaft would end up with piston slap. I am now confused.

load of rubbish, been on my car quite a while and theres no problem, the duration isnt long enough to cause the valves to hit the pistons if its timed correctly

is the camshaft the exact same size as the standard 6n one then??

thennn i dont see how it could make it faster lool :S

its not the physical size, but the duration thats different i think. kind of like an aftermarket cam but not as lairy and not as expensive!

bullsh*t m8 :wink: drove around with mine for over a year, not problems at all, just needs proper installment

Of course it's the same size, or else it wouldn't fit would it? :wink: only the valvehitters (if that is the correct english word for it) are a bit "thicker" which makes the valves stay open longer, resulting in more air-fuel mixture entering each cilinder --> performance increase

ok. ermmm jarno? do you think it would be best to buy the water pump brand new? to alst even longer? andd would be cleaner. and how much would i be looking at for one brand new mate??

yes, replace it right away, saves lot of money since you won't have to take of the timingbelt etc. to replace it lateron. It costed me about 50 euro's, but don''t know what the price is doing in Britain

can you get me a piccture of the camshaft and were the code is onj it. cus im going to go collect one on saturday. and need to make sure itsd the right one ;)

AGAIN thankyou matey ;)

will be fetchin ne saturday with luck! geting a new pump on 2 weeks. then having them all fitted in about 4 weeks :)

Jarno can i put cam from g40 ? is it better then this one from GT ?

The number is 030 109 101B and engine code is PY !

And how much increase of bho i can expect on 1,6 8v AEA engine with 75bhp !
