1.0 brake pad upgrade

Post by piglet14 »

Brakes on the 1.0 are unimpressive despite complete front replacement and rear service.
We did look at upgrading to vented discs with different calipers etc. etc. but all too much faff.
Given that the current pads are cheapies from ECP (Eicher)
Would we get better braking performance from a less cheap pad?

And which one?

Good value for money is the economy genuine pads from vW. They are over half the price of originals

Either that or get Febi or Brembo or Bosch

Thanks Alex,
I need to crawl under and see which caliper is fitted.
Are Bosch OEM being German?

I would think its VW type 2. Could be type 3

Its a 239mm brake on the 1.0 anywho

Yes and no. They tend to be reboxed, so really, no different to febi (bosch sometimes rebox febi stock!), but it should be german made material.
