OCTOBER 2015 SITE UPDATE

Post by alexperkins »

All,

We've now completed upgrading the latest version of the forum software, so things look a little different plus theres some great new features for searching, posting and various other bits and bobs

* We've reskinned the forum to freshen it up as it was time we modernised a little

* We have also changed the domain to drop the

Code: Select all

http://www.uk-polos.net
part so please take a moment to update any bookmarked pages to be http://www.uk-polos.net instead. For example

Code: Select all

http://www.uk-polos.net/index.php
is now http://www.uk-polos.net/index.php

* If you are having login problems, please clear your browsing history and cookies, and rebrowse the site from http://www.uk-polos.net

* The for sale section has now been split into categories - please use them when posting new for sale threads

* We are working on integrating social media (google +, facebook and twitter) into the site to make it easier to sign in and register.

Keep your eyes peeled as there are more changes to come to make us even better 8)

Thanks,

The UK-POLOS.NET Team

Alex,

Any chance that you let us have a choice of skin, so that us old dinosours with computers and 1980 pixel wide screens can use the full real estate, instead of being forced into a mobile phone view :)

You shouldn't be getting the mobile view on a computer - any chance you can post up a screenshot? Might have to make a back end change

Nice that you guys got the automatic image resize issue sorted so you don't have to scale down the picture size yourself.

Now it's just the external link issue so they open in a new window instead of in the same one you have uk-polos open in...

External link issue is already sorted. New links should open in a new window

A little suggestion Alex

Quite a few of the links in posts use the old Tigerstyle domain name. Can you change the redirect so that it goes to the posts rather than the forum homepage, or do a bulk edit on the posts to substitute the urls ? There's good advice out there that people won't get to easily

I guess it was a mod rewrite :)

I was going to say something about difficult things taking 8 minutes, impossible things a little longer but I just tried following a link in a post and it still takes me to the home page:
