2009 polo fascia

Post by mcsorley67 »

Guys sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum but looking for some help regarding fitting of my new car stereo. I've bought a decent single din Sony model but can't for the life of my find a fascia that fits my 2009 Polo. Any ideas?

You'll need the same fascia that a mk5 golf has as the use the same shape insert

I don't think so because that looks like this one which halfords got when they put my registration plate into their system: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/251700638859

This one is definitely too big and doesn't fit my Polo.

Can't work it out. Any help is well appreciated guys.

That is the correct one.

The outer trim needs to come off, then it screws in behind

The 2009 polo takes the RNS510, and RCD510 radios which are the same as the mk5 golf

Can you post a picture of your radio area in your car?

I really can't see how it would fit even removing the whole facing. Here is how it looks with the stock stereo removed: Image

Right yours is a late 9N3 model then

You need a 9N/9N3 cage and shelf :)

2009 models are normally 6R polos

Mines a 2005 9N, but it's basically the same dash layout.
I got the parts from the dealers (£24 odd for both bits). You want item 12 stowage compartment 6Q0 857 058 A & item 14 insert for stowage compartment 6Q0 858 167 A. (double check the part numbers with the dealers against your reg number)
The stowage compartment slots in the lower section of the dash above your heater controls and then the single din cage from your stereo will fit in above.
I didn't buy a fascia plate for mine, I just used the fascia surround that came with the stereo, it all fits and looks right.

That looks like exactly what I need! Thank you!

Did you just order those parts directly from a VW dealership? Think I need item 10 too.

Yes direct from a dealership

10 is a blanking plate - you wouldn't want that
