Whirring Sound

Post by every1luvspleh »

Hi. I've had my 6n2 polo for about 6 months now, and have recently noticed a distant whirring sound when i go above around 40mph, and gets louder when i disengage the clutch. I'm slightly concerned as to what this is, hoping it's not a busted wheel bearing. My mate thinks it could be th alternator, but i'm not convinced. If anyone has ideas as to what it could be, i'd be very appreciative. Thanks

input shaft bearing or clutch release bearing would be the most likely culprit if clutch operation affects the noise.
