Brakes - 9N Upgrade to 288 and 256 rear

Post by Bikerz »

I probally put this in wrong section before, so putting here now

I have a 2008 Bluemotion2.

I belive that means to do a 288mm conversion on the front I need
Hubs, disks, pads, carriers, caliper (and lines be nice)

Correct? What do hubs need to be off? mk4 anni ok? I presume will clear most 15's?

For the rear to disks I need a GTI rear beam basically? (I have a 225 TT with a 4 pot rear conversion so can then go to 256mm vented rear  ) Will these clear 15's?

Master cylinder need changing? Is the GTI one larger bore? Anyone know what the sizes of the master cylinders are? (I cant get my Etka working on windows 7 64 bit)

I know I dont need this much braking on a pretty stock bluemotion and I will loose MPG but I want to do it. (Its booked in for a map already)

Thanks

If you are putting 288 on the front then you will need to go to 16" . regards the parts you will need new hubs at the front callipers discs pads and flexihoses. At the rear I would go to a scrappy and take the whole cross member of any 9n or 9n3 polo that has the disc set up as they are all the same and will save you time and money. To be honest 256 mm rear will be braking from the rear polos are 232 at the rear.
