6n2 Whirring noise when in gear

I have a whirring noise whilst driving when in gear could this be the fan-belt? also theres a constant ticking noise which I believe is the tappets? which may need tightening up.

the car is at 66,000 miles and hasn't had a fan-belt change.

Could it be the gearbox if its a whirring noise when in gear. Get it checked sooner than later. Hope its not the gearbox as it could be costly for you. :(

Or the clutch release barrings like mine, makes a whinning noise and a clunking!

Yep was the Gearbox, went recently :( see for sale section for parts that are being sold.
