6n2 GTi CV Joints

Post by Joniboy »

Hey guys,

Think it's time do do a cv replacement on the GTi. There is an awfull clunking noise that I get on accelerating and a bit of a vibration to go with it. It clunks on every rotation under load but it isn't there when the car is jacked up. However there is a bit of play on the inner CV when I have a tug on the drivers side driveshaft so I figured that isn't too good.

Anyway, I've looked on GSF for the cv joints and they don't list the GTi. Will the 1.6 100hp '95> versions still do the job ok? Or are they different?

Cheers for any help you can give.

Jon

The inner joints will "tug", that's how they're designed. What condition are your outer boots in?
