Hi,
I aready have a scorpion full system.
I'm looking for performance upgrades for my car. Does anyone know if the following are any good?
Power Boost Valve?
Fast Rad Cam?
Remap?

also what kind of increases will I see from the above??

Your not going to get much more than 110bhp if your lucky.
Save up and 20v it

Yeh you really won't get much more. But if your interested a better airflow kit, less restrictive manifold (if you haven't already got one), uprated cams and a remap would help. But were really talking tiny tiny gains for alot of money.

bhp is only a measure of how quick the work is done , so id say make it less work for the power you already have (read reduce the weight)

I reckon you could get 120-125bhp with a decent manifold, induction kit, exhaust, fast road cams and a re-map.
A lot of money to spend though, especially the camshafts which will set you back £800-1000 with labour.
I would be cheaper to buy a GTI engine

cheapest way to make a car faster, without moreinsurance etc - is to make it lighter.

What's a scorpion system? How much does it cost?
I have the same model as you but am finding it lacks guts and throttle response in nearly every gear, I've read stuff on the remapping but 8bhp gains sounds tiny for the cost and without being able to try the difference first.

If you want a big increase in power without spending mega bucks then get yourself a NOS kit, £600 for a wet kit.
Get either a 50 or 75 shot and you will notice a huge gain in power
Some lad did it on Club Polo to his 1.4 75bhp 6N2, just a 50 shot he had but they can easily handle a 75 shot.

I have decided to get a remap by DMF Technic : Mobile ECU ReMapping in Poole Dorset & Hampshire.
I will be having it done tomorrow, so I will keep this thread updated with what I find out.
At the moment I have the following:
2001 6N2 100BHP
Full Scorpion Exhasaust System (CAT to Back)
BMC Induction Kit

With the Re-map you should see around 110-112bhp Alanalanjwong wrote:I have decided to get a remap by DMF Technic : Mobile ECU ReMapping in Poole Dorset & Hampshire.

Might be worth taking it to a company with a rolling road to get it on the dyno
