just want to see if this has been done or if it is even possible.
but can you fit the diesel box off the 1.4/1.9 6n2's onto the gti engine?
from my previous car the ford range mainly zetec's you could take the diesel boxes off and fit them straight onto the petrol ranges. people mainly did this as they are suppose to be stronger boxes.
if anyone could shed any light would be good as im new to the vw's

Re: GTi boxes?
I think this has already been answered in the GTI section anyway
The TDI box can be fitted but the ratio's in 3rd, 4th & 5th are completely different so I strongly recommend you avoid doing this.
1st & 2nd are very similar but the performanc of the car will be ruined with the TDI box.
I think the bearings in the GTI boxes can be uprated but most people tend to just get their boxes refurbed.
The 6 speed Lupo GTI box could be an option but I am not 100% sure on the fitting and I have been told they are extremely expensive.
