1.4 8v 6N2 Polo Idling

Just a quick question regarding idling with my 2001 1.4 8v 6N2 Polo. What should the idle RPM roughly be? Mine is about 900, but when idling the steering wheel and dash start to vibrate and then as soon as I slightly raise the RPM, the vibrations seem to disappear. Could the idling speed be out or is it possibly a dodgy engine mount or is this just a common thing with this car? The reason I ask is that I've only just purchased the car and want to know if there is a problem or not, and if there is, I can sort it ASAP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine is the same, never really thought anything of it. Just think its how it is in my opinion
