Front brake upgrade
Front brake upgrade
Got a 9n 2007. Wanted to find out if there is an upgrade option for the front brakes going in the performance side such as bigger brake calliper and disc. If the callipers are bigger would be nice to know the rim size that can fit. Thanks

Re: Front brake upgrade
First of all, which brakes are currently fitted to that car, and which engine? What I am getting at is, the lower powered cars up to the ones with 256mm discs, do not have a separate calliper mounting bracket, so the callipers bolt directly onto the hub assembly - so if you want to increase the discs size and callipers, you need to buy different hub assemblies, ie from higher powered cars.
In general, 256mm discs need wheels of 14" upwards, 288mm discs need wheels 15" upwards - etc etc. (also calliper type will dictate minimum wheel diameters - the sizes I'm quoting are for the original "Lucas FSIII" or ATE callipers)
