Post by Grey_Polo »

Available with 7speed DSG or manual box and based on the 1.4 TSI engine, the model boasts an average of 4.7 litres per 100km (about 55MPG) ), 140PS and 108CO2/km. With 0 to 60KPH in 7.9 seconds, the Blue GT uses on 2 of its 4 cylinders in economy mode. The price is about the same as the GTI...

This was scheduled to start production in week 22, now it has been postponed to week 41 (source; product manager at VAG Norway), so no cars available until late fall.

Price over here will be far lower than GTI, closer to 1,2tsi highline than GTI. But that is mainly because horsepower, emissions and weight are heavily taxed over here in Norway, making a basic GTI with no extra options start at nearly £40.000. The BlueGT will start at around £28.000 here.

You've hit the nail on the head. It might be slightly down on power from my Polo GTI (9N3) but its 0-62 is faster and it has a manual gearbox, better economy, low emissions and a bigger boot than either current or old GTI (yes, I know boot size is not an exciting topic but its relevant to what I want)

Looks like i'll be down the VW Dealer in September to get mine ordered.

But I still hate the armrest...
