Polo (6r) 1.6 Comfortline - VW Lowering springs fitted

Post by Dookie77 »

Hi all
I recently acquired a set of VW lowering springs. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this OEM part was made by Eibach
Here are some details...
Part number: 6R0 071 677
Drop spec: 30mm all round

Had it fitted last week. Here are some pics...

Powered by Eibach.

The springs look really good in blue. A nice change from the usual red.

The collaboration of two great brands.

The business end.

The result...Will try to post better pics when i get a chance.

Thanks for looking.

That's exactly what i've been looking for! I even created a thread asking for pictures and information about these springs but with the forums not being very active I had little response.

I've been looking at this springs for what seems like an age now, but i've seen and read very little about them so I'm reluctant to bite the bullet and get them fitted.

Please feel free to post as many pictures as you like... hint hint 8)

For those who are on finance and was wondering about the warranty being void etc, I sent an email to volkswagen asking whether I could fit the volkswagen lowering springs and if it would void my finance agreement and warranty.

I got the following reply:

Dear Mr Pawlett

Thank you for your most recent email dated 04 July 2012. Please accept my apologies for the delay in my response.

The only modifications which we approve of are those which are listed as accessories on our website. I have included a link to this section below:

http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/accessories

It would therefore only be possible to have these accessories fitted by a Volkswagen Retailer which would not affect your Manufacturer's Warranty. Depending upon the type of finance agreement which you have, it may be necessary to gain the agreement of Volkswagen Financial Services before making alterations to the vehicle.

Volkswagen Financial Services can be contacted on 0870 010 2022 or via email customer.services@vwfs.co.uk

Thank you for contacting Volkswagen UK.

Yours sincerely

hmmmm cant find the springs on that link.... and james i might just slam it on budgets like you.... :)

just a quick question tho, if i was to change to coilovers would this lower the value of the car? also if i put the springs back on when my car got valued would it boost the value back up to what it should be? if that makes sense haha

You can order them from any VW - i paid R1600 for mine, luckly some guy ordered it and never collected so they sold it to me same day, but you will have to wait +/- 2 weeks for them to bring it in for you. Car handles much nicer and is taughter but still maintain stock comfort, i'm on 17 and it's not even bad 8)
