That looks so much better!

What resistors and leds did you use?

Yeah. I think it makes it look alot more modern. :)

Found the bulbs on ebay and used one 50W resistor per bulb. So 4 in total.

Undoubtedly it looks good. 8)

But I have some doubts :?
Make the next test, push the hazard lights button and step on brake pedal at the same time. Someone must visually check the operation of all these lights just then. Brake and indicator lights. (check for faults with vcds)

FYIO  :
The power cable to the BCM (T73b/13 coming from SB43 fuse) in our 6R is only 1.5 mm thick and perhaps a cable 2.0-2.5 mm thick is necessary with those 50W resistors. Also a 25A fuse instead of 20A.
Bear in mind this power cable and fuse (SB43) is also for brake lights.

Perhaps, with 25W resistors for each LED indicator bulb it also will work correctly. :?:

Another test (creative side)
With the current configuration (50W resistors): Activate the Byte21 Bit4 in the BCM, check that the indicator lights work properly in the instrument cluster doing the same above test.
Please tell us the results ...Thank you in advance.

Well, if those are really the resistors that Martin took, then it's not 50W.

The power depends on the voltage. But the resistance is always fixed.
So let's say it's indeed 6 Ohm. And the car works on 12V (actually a bit more, like 14.5V with the engine running and charging and 12.9V without charging). But let's assume 12V for now.
R = U/I, but we want to know the I. I = U / R, 12V/6Ohm = 2A.

Taken power is now calculated by P = U * I = 12 * 2 = 24W.
Or directly: P = U^2 / R.

A normal blinker is 21W so it's quite close.

I agree with your calculations iichel, but it is convenient to make the tests or check with a multimeter the total actual consumption (Amps) on fuse slot with brake and hazard lights at the same time.

The results will be more conclusive, I think. We do not know where are the limits with different BCM coding for these lights. (now you know what I'm looking for)

True, but my multimeter is not so fast. And fused at 10A max, lol

@ciclo you have LED indicators in taillights (viewtopic.php?f=56&t=58703&p=487560&hilit=bulbs#p487560), do you have any resistors for this?
I bought the same bulbs :)

@CNK. No, I have removed those leds because with standard bulbs (when you are driving) you can see better from inside the car how the indicator is operating. (It is a personal perception )
I'm sorry, I should have updated the information.

As a curiosity the VW T6 keeps the standard bulbs for reverse and blinkers with OEM LED taillights, also for blinkers of LED headlamp.

I have the LED indicators too, front and back and I like they way that they light up directly instead of a smooth build op and fade for the halogen.
Also with resistors, but only 10 ohms I believe. Works like a charm :-)

Heheheh, ok, thanks. Currently I have white LED reverse light (10x 5W Epistar LED + LENS 50W 4500k) and it's good :)
So I though, that LED indicators will be ok, too.

It works perfectly without any faults. :)
