Re: Hubcap's code
I am hoping that you were asking a question, if so, then I bought 1J0 601 171 BXF for the winter alloy 15" wheels (from a Polo 6R) that I bought for my wife's Polo, the wheels were 6R0 601 025 L - I can't say what the difference might be between your XRW and my BXF though. Might by just the cosmetic "finish" on the caps?
Edit:- normally with VAG there is not just one wheel centre cap that fits all, say Polo 6R. Roughly speaking, how you translate that part number is 1J0 = Golf MK? as the first platform to use that part: 601 = that part comes from the wheels section of the parts listing: 171 = alloy wheel centre cap: XRW or BXF or ?? = version/variant.
Some of what I have written will not be exactly 100% correct descriptions of what these parts of the part number translate into - but they are very close to being correct!

Re: Hubcap's code
The new one for the 6C fits also the 6R:
6C0601171XQI
It's the same design as for the Golf 7 - but in Polo size:

Very nice - I think!

Re: Hubcap's code
If it helps at all, my wife's 6R 6C Polo SEL has 16" alloys p/n 6R0 601 025 AF (Rivazza Borbet ZA)
wheel centre caps p/n 6C0 601 171 DLS - with the same appearance of the number on the previous posting, again, I wonder what the different last three letters really mean?

Re: Hubcap's code
I do not understand the codes on Polo caps. How do I find the information?

Re: Hubcap's code
Well, you could remove a wheel centre cap and read off the part numbers that are moulded into the material, or look up an on line VW group parts catalogue and check which version your car should have etc.next703 wrote:I do not understand the codes on Polo caps. How do I find the information?

Re: Hubcap's code
The code is on the reverse side of the centre cap. If you're removing an existing cap from one of your wheels to find the code by prising it off with something like a screwdriver, be careful not to damage your wheel. Alternatively, your VW dealer should be able to tell you the centre cap code for the wheels you have on your car (assuming they are VW wheels and not an aftermarket set of wheels).next703 wrote:I do not understand the codes on Polo caps.
