Multi function steering wheel ordered!
Multi function steering wheel ordered!
Just ordered a Multi Function Steering Wheel - upgrading from a standard SEL leather wheel to an RLine with buttons.
I have the 087 BCM, will I need to order anything else?
Thanks!

Re: Multi function steering wheel ordered!
Hi chrispy, please provide a bit more info.
E.g. Links or images. Current steering wheel, new steering wheel, etc...
Hmm... you have some information (with images - MFSW Black oem - ) and a link to the installation on the first page of my topic, but it depends on what you have bought.
As for SEL, it is difficult to know exactly what equipment level is for other countries.

Re: Multi function steering wheel ordered!
That probably would help wouldnt it.. apologies!
I have this steering wheel currently on a 2011 1.2 TSI.
087 BCM - unsure of steering module.
I have just purchased this:
Brand new with airbag. Unsure about wires.
Hope this helps!

Re: Multi function steering wheel ordered!
It is likely that the airbag wiring for multifunction steering wheel is already included, as well as the control unit.
Here is the installation guide: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=54171
But I recommend that you install it as follows:
- Power from the T41/9 connector to the fuse box, +15 (SB10 or adjacent - SB9 to SB16-) in an empty slot.
- LIN (communication), from the T41/10 connector to the inner connector of the driver's door, T28a/16. It will be easier for you. Avoid the BCM T73b/17.
T28a LHD. RHD mirror image.

Thanks so much!
In regards to the steering module, if I have the 087 BCM, will I need to purchase the MFSW Module?
Thanks!

Re: Multi function steering wheel ordered!
Have you looked inside the steering wheel if it is already included?
Have you read the link for the steering wheel installation?
You have to remove the airbag to install the steering wheel ...

Re: Multi function steering wheel ordered!
I have not yet done anything - I am infact waiting for the wheel to be shipped over from Lithuania. Should be with me soon.
Ordered the M12 spline bit to remove the wheel, I noticed on a video the little black box with the yellow connector that installs under the steering collum where the stalks are - Will the original one be sufficient for the new wheel? or is it standard to order one that works with the MFSW?
Apologies if my replies are rubbish and do not make sense, I am new to all this so please bear with me

Re: Multi function steering wheel ordered!
Please chrispy, you do not have to apologize.
If the steering wheel is brand new with the airbag included it should have the control module and wiring for MFSW.
If you share the purchase link everything would be easier to check.

You're too kind Ciclo
The device im talking about is this. Am I right in saying this will need to be upgraded to support the MFSW functions?

Re: Multi function steering wheel ordered!
This control unit is for Golf VI and family ...
(Unfortunately not for POLO 6R)
You do not need to buy it.

Awesome! Thanks so much.
Just had confirmation the wheel has landed in the UK. Looking forward to getting it done now.
Will post pictures of my process.

Re: Multi function steering wheel ordered!
Hi,
I am a bit confused. I have steering wheel without buttons, just like this one:
https://www.accestories.com/images/stor ... -cover.jpg
And I want buttons on the left (I have LHD):

Do I need new airbag? They both looks the same.
