Re: INSTALLING DIMMER SWITCH IN POLO-6R
Here come the pictures of Dimmer switch " 6Q0 941 333 C" installation as I promised.
Full credits to Master Ciclo for guiding me in a proper way to finish the installation
Before attempting to remove the fuse box, footwell AC vent removal is must, otherwise fusebox cannot be freed.
Footwell AC vent removed.
After removing the 2 screws holding the fuse box, fusebox need to be pushed back slowly and slide it down.
Have to remove these 2 locking clips
Dome plastic cover, covering the bunch of wires need to be slided out
Wires concerned to us.. SB7a(light blue) and SB7b(dark blue)
Making the harness(self explanatory) before proceeding further. Taped it to prevent any kind of noise
SB7b isolated and taped
Dimmer switch connector(T6)
Connecting wire to slot3
Dimmer switch now connected
DONE!!!... Put back everything in reverse order and connect the battery.
Dimmer switch should start working now Head light beam height control switch also works along perfectly.
The second part of installation, Isolating plate lights from Dimmer switch control, I have kept it pending. Will take it up later.
As of now, Plate lights brightness is Under control of Dimmer switch.

Re: INSTALLING DIMMER SWITCH IN POLO-6R
Good job!!. Many thanks for the pictures and the video.
Remember that this retrofit of Dimmer is exclusively for those with BCM High (Russia and India).
Not for BCM Max, nor 6R Europe (there are other solutions).
I take this opportunity to remember this video of Gannu_1 (merely informative).
Shows us that the instrument cluster has its own light sensor.
We wait for the second part of the installation.

Re: INSTALLING DIMMER SWITCH IN POLO-6R
Master.... your appreciation means a lot to me. Thanks
I have made an interesting observation, the headlight switch brightness is not affected by dimmer control. Rest all of interior light brightness are controlled.
I have installed Chinese autoheadlight switch with light sensor module, which is simply a plug and play setup. Works perfectly though.
Does this setup has anything to do with brightness being not controlled by dimmer switch? Any idea?

The Chinese black box non-OEM for automatic lights has some limitations. Nothing to do about it with this black box to solve your 'problem'.
Nothing to worry about when important functions are performed correctly (but not perfectly ).
I have it installed in my 9N3 and does its job.

Yes I agree with you,it works most of the times correctly but not perfectly
The Chinese black box has some limitations, I have experienced it on several occasions.
There is one more flaw to the Black box that I have noticed.
When hazard lights are put ON and we lock the car, the Leaving home lights repeat in cycles(10sec on and 5 sec off) untill we turn off the hazard light!!!
I guess I can live with it as long as OEM switch over doesn't creep me
Off topic...
I finished installation of front parking sensors with OPS(8K) on my 6R, works perfectly
Some day I will write up the details of installation for the benefit of others

Re: INSTALLING DIMMER SWITCH IN POLO-6R
patil, in these few days you are around here you have made me smile many times. Thanks
If you want, open a new topic and show us your 6R, so you can also show there all your modifications. All modifications/retrofits are welcome here, preferably cheap and ingenious mods.
It also serves to help you more easily if you need it.

Master Namaste.. Thank you for your humble words
Surely I will open a topic where I will share my baby 6R with all the mods
I have a query.. does my BCM High(087) supports RLS, AH, CH/LH ? OR should I go for BCM Max.
As of now, I have no plan to upgrade my current Eagle Eye Projectors to OEM Bixenons/LED's.

For Automatic lights and CH/LH you need a BCM Max, it should always be a date after the manufacture date of your 6R.

Hello Mr Patilpatil wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2017 6:20 pm Hello friends, I drive Polo6R 2015MY, TSI 1.2/DSG7/105hp.
Indian Polo does not come fitted with brightness control switch(Dimmer switch), but only fitted with headlight range control switch.
I am planning to install dimmer switch " 6Q0 941 333 C" . It has controls for both brightness as well as headlight range control.
That's one sweet little mode you got there, very handy in long highway drives.
My ride is same as your's, Polo6R 2015MY, TSI 1.2 I am not much of a DIY person but am learning my ropes now. Have done few mods on my TSI(done 17k Kms), I would like to take this up now. Would love to get some pointers from you, hopefully not bothering you much. To start with, could you please share the link where you procured this item? Few aliexpress sellers have stopped listing this but ebay has few listings, just want to buy the correct part with the right seller.
Thank You!!

Re: INSTALLING DIMMER SWITCH IN POLO-6R
Hi ciclo. Ganesh here, from India. This is an old thread, and I see that patil is no longer active on the forum. Gannu_1 from Team BHP recently installed the dimmer switch in his GT TDI, and I'm planning to do the same in my 2015 GT TSI. Please help me with the technique for removal of the OEM SB7(b) terminal from the fuse connector. Do I need a special pin extraction tool for it?
Thanks in advance.
