Removing Centre Console

Post by derkie54 »

I want to remove my centre console and it looks as if it's one piece in the 6C
If I remove the screws at the back and the ones under the gear stick gaiter will it come off ?
I just want to remove the armrest so I only need to lift the back of the centre console a bit to get the aluminium mounting bracket off, hoping I don't have to remove all the trim around touchscreen etc.
Looking online at workshop-manuals.com I think it is showing the earlier 6r as it is in 2 pieces.

According to ETKA all parts are the same as for the 6R, so Workshops Manuals is the right tool to use...

If you look at viewtopic.php?f=56&t=69317&p=516900#p516900 you want to do the reverse - assuming the genuine VW alloy mount is as big as the aftermarket one. You will also need the blanking piece for the back of the rear console where the armrest once was.
