Polo 6n2 Gti - Cheap!

Post by DaveyB »

PICTURES TO FOLLOW!

For sale is my 6N2 Polo GTI. It’s the 1.6 AVY engine with 5-speed gearbox.

It’s a 2000 (W-reg) car finished in black with rare optional heated leather interior and MFD sat nav in very good condition. The bodywork is in average condition – the odd little scrape to be associated with a 15 year old car and some rust on the passenger rear arch which should be an easy fix and the car is priced accordingly.

The Polo has full service history and 7 previous owners. Mechanically its perfect – my local garage said its been years since he’s seen one in as good condition.

Its HPI clear obviously, never been in an accident and has 11 stamps in the service book:
06/03/01 4305 miles Oil change Renwicks VW, Plymouth
09/04/02 8094 miles Oil change Murray VW, Plymouth
25/02/03 17884 miles Oil change Sanderson, Plymouth
24/04/04 28855 miles Oil & Filters Rowes, Plymouth
08/04/05 36341 miles Oil change Murray VW, Plymouth
24/02/06 43274 miles Fluids change Murray VW, Plymouth
08/03/07 49420 miles Fluids change CHL, London
20/07/08 51486 miles Oil change CHL, London
25/06/09 59151 miles Service incl belt CHL, London
06/07/10 65979 miles Oil & Filters CHL, London
08/07/13 76593 miles All belts & fluids Mike The Mechanic, VW Repair
27/05/15 92897 miles Oil, Filters & Plugs Bell Hall Garage, Halifax

Loads of past receipts etc including those for the cambelt replacement etc.

Only 1 key unfortunately but new ones can be bought from VW.

The mileage is around 95600 at the minute but the car is in daily use, doing around 8 miles for 3 days of the week commuting so will rise, albeit slowly.

The MOT is valid until July 2016 and went through its last one with no advisories.

Since owning it I’ve looked after it as well as any of my other cars – washed and waxed regularly and the leather treated with Autoglym leather cleaner/restorer. Looks great now vs when I got it!

As it’s a GTI, it comes with a really good spec for a 15 year old little car – xenon headlights with washers, factory heated leather, genuine BBS RX2 split rim 2-piece alloys, 1.6 engine which does 0-60 in well under 10 seconds, VW MFD sat nav with 6 CD changer in the boot, ISOFIX child seat fittings etc.

It’s a great little car – the second of these we’ve had but as with any car of this age there are some bad points.
The rust on the rear arch as previously mentioned
The sat nav needs a new disc – these can be found on eBay but I’ll also through in the original Gamma tape deck and dash CD changer. Was going to remove the boot changer and fit these before I fitted the sat nav.
Drivers window doesn’t work
Drivers heated seat doesn’t work

All cheap fixes but I just don’t have the time especially now that we have a replacement car on its way.

Considering the bits that need attention and the fact we need it gone sharpish, absolute bargain of £600 no offers. We just need it gone.

Car is based in Halifax for viewings.
