I have vw polo 1.6 16v gti, MKV, year 2000.
I recently changed my shocks to FK coilovers. bought from ebay - seconds. For some reason when I turn steering right or left it makes clunking sound.

Sounds like springs from front coilovers. I also notices top of springs have no rubbers its just aluminium plate and the springs. thins might be the problem??
any ideas?

Looks like I am missing the top noise prevention cushion. I will grease the cushions and buy the top cushion.

Apparently it was none of the above. It was strut bearings. Now I am changing the bearings over the weekend.
Any one know which are the best bearings?

Another issue I cannot use my old strut bearings. FK coil over are not wide (diameter wise).
So, I need to get the fK ones.

Re: Coilovers making clunking sound?
Ive never seen coilover that need a specific top mount. Normally they come with a plate that allows them to fit the factory mount

Guess what guys. I managed to open the coil overs and there are no bearings in the strut.. I bough them new from vw dealership in £37 for 2. requesting money for bearings back from the ebay seller. hoping it will get resolved in a positive fashion.
