Brief summery....
No issues before today. New battery. 1.2L 3 pot 2002. Misses now at work as I got it going at 5am.
Will Vagcom it if/when shes back.
Any constructive info appreciated. Pointers etc

OK. Done a vagcom scan....nothing relevent, BUT, its a starter motor issue.....I think.

That is weird, a starter motor that turns the engine over is stopping it from starting!
I'd expect something basic like the timing has slipped a tooth or two, or the engine coolant temperature sensor is duff.
Edit:- what or how did it start when your wife was coming back from work?
