Replacing the Head unit (Radio+Disk changer)

Post by dylanstevens1121 »

Hi all,

I am planning to undergo a project creating my own head-unit using a old Nexus 7 (2013) I have lying around.

I will be taking the Radio unit out tonight to have a look but so far it look like everything will fit fine!

Has anyone got any tips on installing after-market radios?

I was also planning on installing 2 extra speakers in the rear since they have grills but nothing in them. :?
Any recommendations when it come to the installation processes or speaker to get would be really welcome!

I will update as i go!

Cheers,

Dylan

Update:

The nexus 7 is slightly too long so i have ordered a second dash piece which i can hack up so i can return it to stock when I'm done.

Any tips on removing the center dash piece?

Brave man - we just put an aftermarket stereo in ours, has a front USB port which is great for music using a mini usb stick.
Hope it all goes ok : )
