Anybody had their GT 130 re-mapped?
Anybody had their GT 130 re-mapped?
Wondering how impressed you were with performance and (putting my sensible hat on) fuel economy?

Hi Matt,
I know that Allard Motor Company have done a great deal of tuning on the 130 PD engines as fitted to Golfs and Leon's etc. They really know there stuff and will offer everything from a chip to a full new turbo and intercooler. It is possible to achieve around 200 BHP from the 130 unit, but it will cost you.
Let me know if you need contact details and I can put you in touch.
Cheers,
Andy G

Thanks Andy sounds good although to be fair I'm ok for tuners. I have JBS Auto Designs 10 miles from me and they really are good. What I am realy after is an unbiased view of the remap. Basically living with it on a daily basis. Cant really see there being any negatives, but it doesnt hurt to make sure.

I had an AmD remap on my PD130 Ibiza, and I found it fine.
It wasn't intrusive when driving around in traffic or in town, but it went like stink when I put my foot down.
I did over 20k with the map on, it was put on at 4k. I never had an ounce of clutch slip and I didn't kill any flywheels. I've heard about a few other remaps causing these problems.
180bhp is a little optimistic, must've been on Jabba's rollers or something. Mine had 165 at JBS, 170 at Stealth and 172 at AmD (no surprise there really!)
I like Revo personally, my mum's had her two Ibizas done by them and I've been very impressed with the smoothness of the map and I like the fact that you can turn the map off with a switch.
