Black Mk8 Polo 1.2

Post by Verity »

Ok so a few weeks ago my boyfriend started a job at VW.
One day i asked him to get me a broucher of the new polo. which he did :)
i then said 'hmmm i still really need to see one in person'
so the next day i get to work and he phones me and says come out the back.
so i did and there he was in a gorgeous black 10 plate polo

Yesterday I went to pick the boyfriend up from work as his G40 is in the garage atm. And he stops infront my my car in the new polo.
He gets to use hire cars for free (if they have them for 2 or more days then they have to pay for tax or something like that)

I attually really love it.
i drove it for a bit and it was so nice.
so smooth to drive
the clutch barely feels like its there,
it goes into gear with such ease,
and the steering is so good handles really well,
and the brakes! the brakes are so good.
its ok for a 1.2. i wouldnt of corse say its fast but its nippy to be fair and its so stress free to drive

I love it sometimes. .then other times I think it looks like a dosey puppy.

I have a love/hate relationship with the new Polo.

It really needs Fog lights IMO to look good.

deff a love/hate thing.
i couldnt decide if i liked it or not, until my boyfriend brought that one around and i fell in love lol
he even managed to convert a friend of ours who hated it. but as soon as she sat inside and when for a quick drive in it she ended up liking it lol

my mum has one of these. 1.2 dark blue 5 door. nice car to drive (but sounds like a diesel cause of such a small engine) but dont jump the gun yet.

its a ncie car to drive but like all cars it will have its problems. my mums car has one and its not a simple fix. it has someting to do with the lights interior and side lights or something, randomly coming on when they want or something like that.

she gave it to vw and they dont know the problem but said that vw as a company know about this problem they just dont know what causes it or how to fix it.........

anyone on here had this problem yet? think the cars done less then 5000 miles maybe...

The brand new polo GTI I have also started a thread about has interior light problems!
The car went back to VW during the week ( that probably has practically no miles) All the lights went off and all the engine management and dash lights like that have gone on.
Electrics do tend to be a problem with VWs quite often from problems I hear

I'm quite interested to find out what's wrong. Specially with ur mums car! That's an odd one!

Thye are nice but look how huge it is compared to the MK5 and they are supposed to be a small car.

Well made, well equipped and the styling can only be classed as "love or hate". The GTI does look very nice indeed though

I would still rather have a 6N2 though because of the styling 8)
